Speaker Bio:

Ali Wyne is a member of the adjunct staff at the RAND Corporation, a contributing analyst at Wikistrat, and a global fellow at the Project for the Study of the 21st Century. From 2014-15 he served on two Council on Foreign Relations study groups, one on Chinese foreign policy and another on U.S. policy towards Russia. A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Ali was a Junior Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace from 2008 to 2009 and a research assistant to Graham Allison from 2009 to 2012. He has also done research for Henry Kissinger, Robert Blackwill, and Richard Stengel. From January to August 2013, he served on the transition team of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power. Ali is a coauthor of Lee Kuan Yew: The Grand Master’s Insights on China, the United States, and the World (Cambridge, MA: MIT Press, 2013) and a contributing author to the Routledge Handbook of Public Diplomacy (London: Routledge, 2008). He has also published in outlets including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, the Christian Science Monitor, Global Asia, and the American Review. Ali delivered the welcome address at the 2011 St. Gallen Symposium, and in 2015 he participated in the Manfred Wörner Seminar. Ali is a member of the Aspen Institute’s Society of Fellows and Socrates Society.

Moderator Bio:

Currently a Member of the Board at CENSA and a security consultant to the federal government, Bill spent more than 20 years in government service working on various strategic matters, special operations, and related intelligence issues. He also previously served as the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy.
